RV GUIDE

For over 10 years, we published a print RV Guide that we distributed to customers at shows and other outlets, and also had available for download on this website. We have found that due to increasing printing and mailing costs and the tendency for people to do much more research on the web, it made more sense for us to take the contents of the RV Guide online for ready access and download across the nation and around the world!

The articles contained in this section are the result of the Dewalt's family experiences through the last 40 years, and Tom Dewalt's insight to turn that experience into a reference for anyone interested in RVing. Through the years, the Dewalt's have seen many costly, heart-breaking mistakes that could have been avoided. By sharing this information, we hope to help you benefit from our years of experience.

Buying an RV is a complicated and time-consuming process, which can sometimes be overwhelming. The shopping process is full of confusing contradictions and misleading information. There is plenty of new terminology to learn and understand and many threatening issues to be aware of. You'll need to do a lot of homework in order to avoid expensive and even catastrophic mistakes. This guide will help you avoid trouble and help the process go smoother and faster. We're sure it will save you some headaches and some money.

The purpose of this RV Guide is to educate you about how the purchasing process works and make it work for you. You will learn how to avoid common errors RV buyers make; how to discover the most costly defects RVers face, and how to identify and disarm some of the tricks used by unscrupulous RV sellers.

Please don't get discouraged by the negative side of the process. As this is a publication about "avoiding pitfalls," a focus on negative issues is essential. We believe knowing about potential trouble makes it easier to avoid. If you step back and think about it, we think you'll realize every purchase you've ever made faced similar issues. In many cases, prior knowledge would have allowed you to avoid a problem. That's our goal here. Keep in mind the end results you want and use this guide to aboid a negative outcome.

We hope you enjoy the articles and information offered in this section, and please feel free to contact us with any comments or requests for articles on a particular topic that might be of interest to you.
