Fuel Cost Comparison Many people today are concerned about the effect of rising gas prices on RVing. One of the biggest points to remember when considering the effects your RV is not your everyday car. You are not commuting to and from the office with your RV...therefore, the effects of the gas price increases are not as large as on your regular, everyday vehicles. Consider the follow figures on how much gas costs you - even as the prices continue to climb. Let's consider this: Assume typical use in one year is 5,000 miles. Typical mileage is 10 miles per gallon. At 5,000 miles/10 mpg = 500 gal. $3.00/gal. x 500 = $1,500 $3.50/gal. x 500 = $1,750 $4.00/gal. x 500 = $2,000 That makes a difference of $500! That averages out to about $40 per month! For a shorter trip: 200 miles at 10 miles per gallon with gas costing an extra $1.00 -you are spending $20 more for your trip! Are you going to stay home because of $20? Remember that with your RV you are in charge of how far you go
